What we do
Magical Mishap LLC is an independent publisher and software studio working in the tabletop roleplaying space. Three kinds of work sit under the company:
Web tools
Free browser-based tools that take the busywork out of running a game, so a game master can spend prep time on the story instead of the paperwork.
Community
A membership community around those tools, where players and game masters shape what gets built next and support the work directly.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Magical Mishap LLC collects when you use our websites and services, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this site and to every product listed above, including Live to Role.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we store the name and email address associated with it, along with the settings and content you choose to save.
- Sign-in information. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Apple or Google, that provider tells us a unique identifier for you and, if you allow it, your name and email address. We never receive your password.
- Usage information. Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use these to keep the service running and to spot abuse.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it and refer back to it later.
Sign in with Apple
When you use Sign in with Apple, Apple sends us a unique identifier for your account and the name and email address you agree to share. If you choose Apple's Hide My Email option, we receive a private relay address instead of your real one, and that relay address is the only email we hold for you. We use it solely to identify your account and to send you service messages you have asked for. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately opt in, and we do not share it with anyone else.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and keep you signed in.
- To provide the features you use and save your work.
- To answer support requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not build advertising profiles from it. We share information only with the service providers who host and operate our sites, with payment processors when you buy something, and where the law requires it.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep account information for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded. Records we are required to keep for tax or accounting purposes are retained for as long as the law requires.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and the data attached to it. Deleting your account removes your personal information from our active systems. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we honour those requests regardless of where you live.
To make any of these requests, email wizard@magicalmishap.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this section, and for material changes we will give notice on the affected service.

These terms govern your use of the websites and services operated by Magical Mishap LLC. By using them, you agree to what follows.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. You may close your account at any time.
Acceptable use
Do not use our services to break the law, to harass other people, to upload malicious code, to scrape or overload the service, or to attempt to gain access to systems or accounts that are not yours. We may suspend accounts that do.
Your content
Anything you create and save using our tools stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it and show it back to you, and to display it publicly if you choose to publish it. You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload.
Our content
The text, artwork, software, and branding on our sites and in our books belong to Magical Mishap LLC or to the creators we license them from, except where a licence such as a Creative Commons or open game licence is stated. Please do not redistribute them without permission.
Availability
Our free tools are provided as they are, without warranty. We work to keep them online and correct, but we cannot promise they will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or retire features over time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Magical Mishap LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of our services, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why where we can.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Wisconsin, USA, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this section tells you when they last changed, and continuing to use the services means you accept the current version.
